Thanksgiving Table Games

Thanksgiving table games are a fantastic hosting idea that will really bump up the fun at your gathering.

These are for kids, adults, and families.

Pick one or two below!

1. Build-a-Turkey Game

Thanksgiving Corpse Game – your guests are going to draw a turkey in three parts between three people.

And this is perfect, because there’s no pressure to play – if someone wants to, they’ll just simply pick up one of the pieces of paper, draw the part that it says, fold it down so no one can see, and then place it back in the center.

Make sure you fold it to hide what you’ve done before putting it back in the center for someone else to add to it.

2. Wooden & Metal Puzzles Centerpiece

We had moved about 12 hours away from any family several years ago, and were, thankfully, invited to a friend’s parents’ house for Thanksgiving.

She had the coolest thing set up – little metal puzzles on each table.

I can’t tell you who played with them more, me, or my son (I think it was me!).

What a really fun fidget for both kids AND adults.

3. Thanksgiving Memes Game

Alright – this one takes a bit of setup and prep…but it leads to a spectacularly memorable Thanksgiving table game.

The hosts take random photos while preparing for the big meal with an instant camera (like this one) – be as funny as you’d like.

Think:

  • Dressed turkey about to go into the oven
  • Dog rolled over on their back in the kitchen
  • Mom with her hand on her hip, thinking intensely about that sweet potato casserole
  • Etc.

Put them in the middle of the table as the centerpiece. Include a piece of paper or index card below each photo (with “Write Your Meme” at the top), and pens.

Invite people to write in really funny memes about the photos.

Do this every year, and you’ll have a nice collection of photos you guys can meme for years to come!

Not only are you creating a centerpiece game that is extremely unique (and might persist as a Thanksgiving tradition), but you’re taking pictures you can look back on for years!

4. Words You Can Make from Thanksgiving-Themed Words

Print out this free printable, and include it in your centerpiece (OR, put the words on any kind of fancy paper you’d like).

Words like:

Get a roll of butcher paper, and surprise your guests by covering the table in it.

Provide a bunch of pencils, and pre-seed the game playing by drawing several of the paper and pencil games below across the table:

  • Tic-Tac-Toe

  • Etc.
