That’s why I created these Halloween candy games for kids.

You can get all the supplies you need from Dollar Tree (or you might already own them), and do a few as a lead-up to Halloween.

Then do a few after Halloween, using all of that great candy they collected in fun ways!

Halloween Candy Games for Kids

Candy plays a big role in each of the following 5 Halloween games for kids.

So, complete these leading up to Halloween with some Dollar Tree candy, or use your kid’s bounty after Trick-or-Treating.

These make great Halloween party games and activities, too!

1. Candystein Game

Supplies needed: a pile of Halloween candy in a bag, and the free printable

Kids get to invent a new piece of candy in this game!

They’ll use their pile of Halloween candy by choosing two randomly, and writing down different answers about them.

Then they’ll mash all the information together to get the name of their new candy. They’ll draw what it looks like.

At the end of the activity, they get to eat the pieces of candy they used. Now that’s a win!

2. Halloween Snacklebox Roll

Supplies needed: Halloween candy, a mini tacklebox, and a pair of dice

tacklebox filled with one piece of candy in each compartment next to funky green dice

If your child’s anything like mine, then they love to ask for a piece of Halloween candy.

And again.

And again.

Then they forget about it for a few days…then it comes back into favor, and the asking starts.

<cycle repeats, until you realize you still have Halloween candy at Easter, and start thinking about whether or not you can repurpose some of it for their Easter basket – that can’t just be me, right?!>.

What if you turn getting a piece of Halloween candy to eat into a game?

Get a tacklebox, and fill each compartment with one piece of candy from their Halloween bounty.

Use this snacklebox as a board game, and each compartment is one space.

Your child then gets to roll a pair of dice and count their way through the pieces of candy until they land on the one they get to eat.

Hint: Need a motivational reward for them? Reward your child with numbers of turns throughout the week based on what they’ve completed, like chores for kids. Each roll of the dice = one piece of candy.

3. Candy Memory Match

Supplies needed: plastic cups (even number), matching candies (one for each cup you’re using)

stack of dark purple cups with little pumpkin next to pile of paired up candies
dark purple cups upside down in rows with one candy inside each

Pick out pairs of candies.

Set up the match game by putting one piece of candy under each plastic cup, and aligning the cups in rows.

Now, kids get to play a memory match game.

Any candies they match, they get to eat!

4. Halloween Candy Shuffle

Supplies needed: a bunch of Halloween candy, a dice, and the free printable

Such a fun and simple Halloween candy game for a group of kids: each person chooses a piece of candy from their pail.

Then they take turns rolling the dice and following the instructions on the printable game sheet.

Choose the number of turns to be played (once through the group, twice through, etc.).

At the end of those turns, whichever piece of candy each person ends up with is the one they get to eat!

5. Duct Tape Candy Race

Supplies needed: two rolls of duct tape, a bag of wrapped candies, a piece of colored tape to mark the finish line

red and yellow duct tape roles with pieces of candy beside them, getting ready for play
yellow duct tape roll with two pieces of candy in it headed to finish line

Pit two players against one another in this game where the winner is the person who gets all of their candy pieces across the finish line first.

The only twist?

They can only move the candy pieces by rolling them inside a roll of duct tape.

Try one or two of these Halloween candy games with your own kids, with the whole family, with a youth group, Halloween carnival, a Halloween party, or even in class (as an extra reward leading up to trick-or-treating). Your kids will thank you!
