What are some awesome Christmas gifts for girls 8-10?

I’ve got two 9-year-old nieces, and I have to say I just loveeeee this age.

They’re branching out into interests, they want to roll up their sleeves and get involved with anything hands-on, and they’ve got an eye for what’s “cool” according to peers.

It makes buying gifts SO fun.

I’ve got loads of ideas that my own nieces (and my 9-year-old son’s friends) have all had their hands on and love.

Christmas Gifts for Girls 9-10

You're about to find some really unique and engaging ideas that make great Christmas gifts for girls aged 8-10.

Let's get that shopping done!

1. Popin’ Cookin’ Kit

three colorful boxes of Popin' Cookin' mini versions of food made from candies
two mini candy ice-cream cones from the Popin' cookin' kits

I can’t even describe to you the glee in the three preteens’ eyes (my son and two nieces) as they went through two Popin’ Cookin’ kits last year and built the candy-shaped food art.

It was so much fun!

Two thumbs up.

2. Instax Mini 12 Instant Camera + Album

We took our 9-year-old niece and our 9-year-old son to the Museum of Art in Philadelphia (yep, we ran up the steps), and she had the coolest instant camera that she was totally mesmerized by.

She took some really cool photos while we were there, then had a little album she put the instant photos in.

3. Air Twister

My 9-year-old niece has Air Twister and brought it over to a sleepover with my son.

Can I just tell you how much FUN the two of them had with this game?

I just sat on the couch and giggled – it was so cool to watch. Got them very active, and they both smiled a lot.

4. Sticki Rolls Sticki Book

My niece came up to me with this really interesting-looking bracelet and proceeded to pull out a sticker from it and give it to me.

*squee*!

It was so cool. I asked her immediately what it was, and she excitedly told me all about her Sticki Rolls.

A definite winner for tween girls.

5. Kigurumi

Japanese animal onesies are pretty stinkin’ cute…and sooooo comfortable.

There are tons of animal-themed jumpsuits to choose from for preteens (matching sets for adults, too!).

Like this giraffe, or this panda.

6. Nail Art Caboodle

There are some great Nail Art supplies at Dollar Tree, plus some cute boxes and caboodles that you can get for cheap to gift them in.

Just look at all this!

7. Emotional Support Dumplings

velvety container filled with five squishy emotional support dumplings

These seem so silly…but let me tell you why my son and every child who ever comes into his room (boy or girl – you should hear the squeals of delight) absolutely loves these little guys.

In fact, after my 9-year-old niece visited us, she got a set of her own!

First of all, they’re high quality. Very soft, very squishable.

Secondly, in an age where kids are learning and becoming more aware of mental health, they are SUCH good conversation starters about emotions!

And thirdly?

My son likes to dole them out at night to us adults who might need one to sleep with. It’s adorable.

Seriously, just yesterday, he said, “Mom – would you like a dumpling for tonight?” Which is code for “Mom, you look a little frazzled. Let me help care for you.”

<heart melt>.

8. Cute 3D Erasers

Go to Five Below, or even Dollar Tree (that’s where those sushi erasers in the picture came from!), to grab yourself some adorable 3D erasers girls will go gaga for.

They could use them as actual erasers, give them away to friends, line them up as pets on their desks…the possibilities are endless.

You can also find a huge selection here.

9. Erasable Pens

Remember when you were a preteen and how you felt so grown-up whenever you got to use pens?

These Frixion erasable pens are SO COOL. I use them myself (even though I bought them for my 9-year-old!).

10. Million Dollar Chocolate Bar

I’ve never met a kid who didn’t tell me they wanted to be rich when they grew up.

Which makes these Million Dollar Chocolate Bars a real winner of a gift.

Classy!

11. Mushroom-Growing Kit

Mushroom growing kit with tons of mushrooms coming out of it

What tween girl doesn’t like a little instant gratification (or, kind of instant gratification)?

My son requested this mushroom-growing kit from his grandmother last year, and it turned out really well.

Mostly because they grow so quickly! Preteens and kids love quick gratification.

At first, when the pearl mushrooms came out purple-blue, I thought they might be moldy.

But it turns out, that’s all part of the growing cycle.

Look how great they turned out!

12. Feastables Chocolate Bars

Many kids this age know Mr. Beast on YouTube.

Well, he’s got a whole line of chocolate bars.

My son loves trying them against their Hershey’s competitor and seeing which one is better.

13. Scratch-Off Rainbow Notes

I absolutely love these black Notes. You use a wooden scratch-off stick to make your note, and it comes out in rainbow colors!

14. Best Friend Necklaces

Do you remember receiving or giving a best friend necklace when you were this age?

I sure do. And, I’m happy to report, the trend is still going strong!

Except now, they have WAY cooler options (including a 3-heart necklace for a trio of friends).

And that, friends, is my list. I can tell you that each thing is tried and tested by my nieces plus neighborhood friends. These make wonderful Christmas gifts for 8- to 10-year-olds!
